Del Deseo
The drawings in this series appear as a sort of manifesto of desire and the erotic from a perspective of brown femininity.
They seek to break with the demands of social imaginaries and avoid a destiny that seems predetermined. Bodies that not only demand, but also embrace these characteristics as inherent in every stroke. This is how they create a world in which the imaginary of beauty is populated by curves, the indigenous phenotype, dark hair, and braids. Finding sensuality for what it is: something real to themselves. Where beauty, desire, and pleasure are not reserved for an exclusive group. A world where the erotic and the brown go hand in hand.
